Source was approached by the Calendar Check team in early 2010
when the website was still being developed and was asked to plan a
comprehensive PR plan to help officially launch the concept.
The plan for the launch included a consumer media relations
campaign, as well as targeting the core publications of the charity
and fundraising sector. Source also directly approached theUK's top
50 charities' press officers to raise awareness of the website and
the benefits it provides.
Working with Calendar Check
Generating coverage in charity magazines Third Sector, UK
Fundraising and the Charities Trust to name but a few, Source
secured some great pre-launch awareness for Calendar Check before
the website even went live. Working together with the sales team,
over 200 charities registered prior to the official launch.
Source also worked in tandem with Calendar Check to establish a
Facebook and Twitter campaign, directly targeting charities and
encouraging publicised charity events to upload the details on the
The official launch was more consumer-focused, with former
Calendar Girl's stage actress, Gaynor Faye, supporting the
campaign. Coverage included nine regional BBC radio interviews and
a feature on ITV Calendar News.
Since the launch, the website has gone from strength to
strength, securing endorsements from numerous leading charities
including Cancer Research UK, the British Red Cross, NSPCC and the
Royal National Institute for the Blind.
