Client relationships don't come much better or longer than the one we enjoyed with Lupton Fawcett, who were clients for over eight years. We worked together from 2002 until 2010 and parted as best of friends when, for various reasons, they decided the time was right to take PR in house.

As a Yorkshire-based firm targeting primarily Yorkshire's businesses, Lupton Fawcett's brief was clear and concise from the outset. They wanted to establish and maintain a strong presence on the editorial pages of the region's business media.

Moreover, they wanted to achiever a higher profile than their closest competitors.

Working with Lupton Fawcett

Working closely with Lupton Fawcett's marketing team, we made sure the media was fed with a steady stream of positive news about the firm in the shape of corporate deals completed, events, new staff and legal services, even the odd acquisition.

In addition, we built the profiles of key individuals in the firm by, for example, setting up regular meetings with journalists and proactively contributing comments and opinions on topical legal issues. (It wasn't as easy as it sounds as PR isn't top of most lawyers' agendas!)

To measure our success and demonstrate our achievement of Lupton Fawcett's objectives we set up a media monitoring service that not only covered Lupton Fawcett but also four of its closest rivals. And we are delighted to report that every year since it was set up, Lupton Fawcett has finished top of the media pile. Let's hope they can keep it up!
