July at Source: Blink and You Missed It

After a month and a bit of World Cup drama, controversial moments and enough added time to last another month and a bit, it’s somehow already August. While the exploits of England and the thrills and spills of so many other games and teams kept us glued to our TVs, there was still a whole lot going on here at Source – from team milestones to standout media coverage; book chart busting client success and a spot of golf! Here is what Source has been up to in July.

A year at Source and a Yorkshire Post byline

July was a double celebration for one of our PR and social media executives Ella, who celebrated her first year at Source on July 7th.

To make the month even more memorable, she had her first ever Yorkshire Post byline – after the article she’d written about the link between football tournaments, and the rise of domestic abuse rates was picked up as an opinion piece. Touching on the successful campaigns by Women’s Aid, it was an important piece that helped shine a light on an issue that often goes unnoticed, proving once again that PR can play a role in driving meaningful conversations.

Strong results for YLEM

We’ve also been celebrating some fantastic PR results for one of the UK’s leading battery energy storage developers, YLEM Energy.

In the last few months alone, we’ve notched up:

  • 108 pieces of media coverage
  • 9 million readers reached
  • £193, 485 worth of PR coverage generated

Through a targeted media strategy and strong storytelling, we’ve secured quality coverage that has helped put the business in front of key audiences and reinforce its position within the energy sector. It’s always rewarding to see client profiles grow as story after story gains real traction.

A PR innings to remember with Cricket Yorkshire

July saw us step up to the crease to take on a PR challenge that needed a bit of mystery spin to land the story in the right areas.

Working for Source friend, John Fuller from Cricket Yorkshire we had a hattrick of angles to go at… CY’s 15th anniversary, John’s newly published book and his Yorkshire Cricket Teas awards, which are run annually in conjunction with Yorkshire Tea.

We scored heavily with local, regional and national print and broadcast coverage, but more excitingly than all of that – the coverage helped push John’s new book into the Top 10 cricket books on Amazon! An achievement that saw him running shoulders with Sir Jimmy Anderson, Ben Stokes and the cricketing bible, Wisden – as they shout at cricket grounds around the country (and now shout in the Source office), HOWZAT!!!!

It wasn’t all press releases and media pitches this month.

The team joined our client Underpin for their annual golf day, spending the day catching up with partners, clients and industry contacts. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships away from the office, with plenty of networking, good conversations and (for some of us) a few decent golf shots!

Bring on August

If July’s anything to go by, August won’t be slowing down. We’ve got plenty more campaigns in the pipeline, exciting client projects on the horizon, more reasons to celebrate and, of course, the new football season begins!

See you next month!
