It’s been another busy month of movement at team Source HQ; with new faces, client visits, big events, promotions and plenty happening both in and out of the office.
So, without further ado, here are our highlights.
First things first, a huge congratulations to Lewis, who officially stepped into his new role as Account Director at the beginning of the month.
Anyone who’s worked with him will know this has been thoroughly deserved. From developing client strategy and delivering the goods, to managing our executives (trust us, that IS a task!) and singing along to nearly every song on the radio, he’s a huge part of the team and to think, he’s still not even 30!
Naturally though, one massive achievement for the month wasn’t enough for Lewis. May also saw him involved in Ryburn United’s road to victory from in between the sticks in the Yorkshire Amateur League Cup Final… AND… yes, there’s more… be shortlisted in the PR Professional of the Year category at the Insider Media Young Professionals Awards.
We’re all incredibly proud of him, even if the rest of us are now feeling like underachievers in comparison.
Like most people connected to the property and regeneration world, a big chunk of the penultimate week in May was spent attending UKREiiF events in Leeds.
There were conversations, catch-ups, coffees and a lot of time spent trying to work out where our next meeting was. And a lot of time spent with our client, Collaborate Furniture, who had travelled up from London for the week.
It was brilliant to spend time meeting industry contacts, discussing upcoming projects and experiencing firsthand the buzz surrounding the sector right now.
Our highlight of the week was AireFest, an event hosted by a range of different businesses and organisations – including one of our longest standing client’s, Fox Lloyd Jones. There was a fantastic atmosphere and it was great to see so many creatives and professionals all coming together in one space.
And last, but not least, Leeds did a magnificent job of hosting such a big event. What a great city we have to call home.
There was also a lot of great client work going on throughout the month.
We clocked up a few more miles of column inches for The Northern Trek. The story about the epic route (which starts at Chatsworth House and ends at the top of Ben Nevis) looking to become the first walk to get both English National Trail and Scottish Great Trail status landed regional, national and international coverage – including the Scottish Daily Express and Australian trekking bible, Great Walks.
LVF Packaging’s call on the Government to boost recycling development not only landed a heap of coverage but got a response from the Treasury press office thanks to Greg Wright at The Yorkshire Post.
Meanwhile, the power of a good picture paid off for Bellway’s CSR story about providing helmets for junior cricketer at Skipton Cricket Club – you can see why.
And it wasn’t just traditional PR success; May saw us reflect on the last few months of social growth for Underpin – which included an 86% increase in impressions, 223% increase in clicks, and 90% increase in reactions since. Pretty impressive stuff.

As we roll into June, one thing is clear, the pace isn’t slowing down anytime soon – especially with two new clients coming on-board from June 1st… watch this space for who they are.
Anyway, between industry events, growing partnerships, team milestones and client success, May has been a reminder of how important relationships, collaboration and good people really are
