The Client

Coptrz is one of the UK’s leading commercial drone providers, selling over 150 different product types online from manufacturers across the world.

The Brief

Source was tasked with developing and implementing a Digital PR strategy to achieve the following key objectives: 

  • Build awareness of the Coptrz brand amongst target business and consumer audiences
  • Generate editorial exposure in business and trade press through to tech and consumer titles
  • Communicate Coptrz complete 360° drone solution to meet the needs of businesses and consumers
  • Promote Coptrz work with its B2B partners, such as the PGMOL to champion the use of its drone technology within Premier League refereeing

The Strategy

As part of our ongoing press office function, we provided a drip-feed of business announcements to our target media and proactively sold-in comment and interview opportunities to promote Coptrz thought leadership around drone technology.

The first campaign we got our teeth into involved working with PGMOL – the body responsible for professional refereeing in English football.

In partnership with the PGMOL, we developed a PR launch plan ahead of the new Premier League season, with core activity including:

  • Organising a media press day and photocall at the Loughborough University training camp with top Premier League referees such as Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor
  • Intensive media relations pre and post event, securing interviews for Coptrz with Sky Sports News and the Mail Online
  • Worked with our press photographer to secure a series of creative press shots that best encapsulated the launch

Central to our strategy, was ensuring every aspect of the PR launch was designed to showcase the capabilities of Coptrz’s drone technology within elite-level football refereeing.
