If June has taught us anything, it’s that Britons don’t particularly like being too hot – especially in the office. Along with the rest of the nation, we were busily hunting out fans from heatwaves past; pricing up air conditioning units that were (of course) sold out; and making fans from pretty much anything we could fashion to see us through the day!
While we might all have been a little on the overly toastie side, we did keep our cool when it came to work with a month full of new wins, great client results and plenty to celebrate.
Here’s what June looked like at Source…
We commenced work with two new clients during June, both of whom are returning clients. With Winston Solicitors and the University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC) taking a seat at the Source table once again.
Our work for Winston Solicitors is initially focused on the growing scandal surrounding NHS Continuing Healthcare and already it’s hooked some great press attention – watch this space for when it lands.
Meanwhile, we’re helping UVAC become the leading voice for higher and degree apprenticeships by securing strategic media coverage, driving the news agenda and amplifying the views of its members. Our work will also support the organisation’s policy influence, attract new members, promote UVAC Plus+ and increase engagement with both existing members and employers.
Of course, while we’re welcoming new clients, we’re just as focused on delivering for our existing ones.
For furniture consultancy Collaborate, who joined us in January, the goal was clear: To boost its social media strategy and increase visibility and audience engagement across LinkedIn.
After six-months of consistent content strategy, refining messaging and focusing on audience targeted content, together, we’ve achieved the following:
Behind every figure is a story, a relationship or an opportunity created for our clients, and that’s what makes these numbers really count.
June saw us welcome Eva Roch to the office for work experience. After meeting Martha and Ella at the Manchester Metropolitan University’s PR in the Spotlight week back in March, Eva was keen to get some insight into the industry. She really got stuck in from the word go, working on press releases, social media designs and radio advertising scripts. We loved having her with us.
June also saw Lewis swap the office for a suit and tie as he attended the Insider Young Professional Awards 2026 after being shortlisted for the PR Professional of the Year. While he didn’t come away with the trophy this time, being shortlisted alongside some brilliant young professionals was a huge achievement and one we’re all incredibly proud of.
And Lewis showed why he’s moving in such plaudited circles, with his latest thought leadership blog, ‘Banning under-16s from social media is a positive step – but it must be backed by digital identity’ getting picked up by the Yorkshire Post. With online safety and age verification firmly in the media spotlight, it was fantastic to see his perspective on the topic shared with a wider audience through Yorkshire’s “national newspaper”.
And finally, our Marketing Peer Group returned in June. As with the two events we put on and hosted in April, our June meeting was a huge success – with the room full of marketers, from a range of industries, sharing concerns and challenge, which were addressed and tackled during the course of the two-hour session. We’ll be back in September to start a monthly Autumn / winter run of Group – to find out more and register your interest emails [email protected].
Looking forward to the rest July; there’s the end of the World Cup (could this finally be the summer football designs to come home?), Wimbledon, the British Open, the conclusion of the Women’s T20 cricket World Cup (well, that happened yesterday and what a great effort it was from England – getting to the final and sadly falling at the final hurdle) and T20 and ODI white ball men’s series against India and, in between all of that, we need to find some time for some work!
We’ll be on-boarding new clients, pitching for potentially even newer ones, generating miles of press coverage, buying advertising space, managing PPC, handling press enquiries and coming up with some great social content for clients. And, who knows, getting one of those currently out-of-stock AC units in the office!
