The Client

Reward Finance Group provides SMEs with tailored business finance loans and asset-based solutions of between £50k and £5m.

The brief

Source was tasked with devising an integrated PR and social media strategy to achieve the following objectives:

  • Raise awareness of Reward across the UK amongst SMEs, commercial finance brokers and other key intermediaries
  • Provide localised support to all five regional offices, in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Edinburgh
  • Raise the profile of key spokespeople and champion thought leadership
  • Promote Reward’s two key lending products – Business Finance and Asset Based Solutions
  • Increase reach and engagement on Reward’s social media channels, particularly LinkedIn
  • Drive increased traffic to the website

The strategy

With Reward a fast-paced business experiencing rapid growth, it needed an agile PR and social media strategy that can evolve and flex to support its continued expansion and unearth new channel opportunities to reach key audiences.

From a PR perspective, we focused on a series of tactics that championed Reward’s expertise, product portfolio and the speed, simplification and transparency with which it approaches lending. It was also key to tell the stories of those SMEs who have benefitted greatly from the funding provided.

Our approach to managing Reward’s organic social media presence dovetailed our PR strategy. Daily posting of engaging content to communicate Reward’s business finance deals or lending expertise was underpinned by ongoing announcements around its charity support and new staff appointments.

In a bid to build Reward’s profile in its newer regions, such as the Midlands and Scotland, we devised a series of paid social campaigns to geo-target commercial finance brokers, business advisors and other SME intermediaries. The campaigns delivered a stream of engaging content, ranging from animations to convey key products, through to ‘talking heads’ videos to position the business and key personnel as commercial finance experts and thought leaders.
